ChatKit reads the help content you write — your prices, your policies, your FAQs — and answers your visitors from that, and only that. Anything else, it hands to a human on your team with the full conversation attached.
Add ChatKit to your siteThe chat bubble on this page is ChatKit itself, answering from ChatKit's own help content. Ask it what ChatKit costs. Then ask it something it has no business knowing — it will refuse and offer you a human instead. That refusal is the product.
You keep one knowledge document per site — prices, hours, policies, how things work. ChatKit answers from it verbatim-faithfully, and says "I don't have that" for everything else. No invented prices, no made-up policies.
Every chat carries a human button with your own label. Tapping it emails the full transcript to your support inbox, and the escalation waits in your dashboard until you mark it handled.
Every exchange is logged in your dashboard — what visitors asked, what ChatKit answered, where it handed off. That's your list of what to add to your content next.
No developer project, no training pipeline.
Your dashboard gives you a single line carrying your site's key. It works on any site — and the same key drives the WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow and WooCommerce installs.
Paste your FAQs, prices and policies into the knowledge editor. Edit any time; the chat uses the new text immediately.
Your name and logo in the header, your colors, your greeting, your corner of the screen, your suggested questions, your words on the human button.
Every ChatKit install renders from a single per-site configuration, set in the dashboard: business name, logo or initials avatar, bubble and header colors, greeting, input placeholder, bottom-right or bottom-left position, up to three suggested starter questions, the escalation button label, and an optional "Powered by ChatKit" line that paying sites can switch off. Change it once and every install surface follows — there is no per-platform version of your chat.
The industry bills AI support by the resolution, the message or the seat. ChatKit doesn't.
| ChatKit | Typical AI support | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing | $49/mo flat per site | $0.99 per resolution, or credit packs that run out |
| Answers from | Only your content — refuses the rest | Your site plus the model's general knowledge |
| Human handoff | Included, transcript by email | Often a higher tier |
One license covers one website — one domain, like yourbusiness.com. Every subdomain of that domain is included (www, your shop, even staging and dev copies), so test versions never cost extra. A second, different domain is a second license at the same $49/month. Run several sites? One account holds all of your licenses, and you manage every one of them from a single dashboard. And because ChatKit is hosted, your site key is your license: there is nothing to install or hand back — while your subscription is active the chat keeps answering, and if it lapses, the chat on that site pauses.
